     Learning to play the piano is a journey which requires focus, commitment, discipline, joy, and a professional guide to navigate the complexity of music.  Students studying in Jenny's studio are encouraged to explore the musical world through solo literature, duets, trios, quartets, and concertos.  With a professional music degree from the University of Toledo, in Ohio, she includes in her rigorous curriculum is a wide range of repertoire spanning many centuries, traditions, cultures, and styles. Students also will develop their musicianship skills, improve sight-reading, and delve into the intricacies of each musical time period. Jenny provides a unique curricula for each student to inspire them in their musical journey.  She is a member of the Music Teachers National Association. 


     Sharing music with others is an integral part of being a musician.  Students are encouraged to play for community events, master classes, piano festivals, senior recitals, and solo and multi-player recitals.   Jenny equips her students to be at ease and fluent in live performance.  Whether a student is featured in local functions, church events, or collaborative opportunities, students are prepared to be at the top of their game. Moreover, the new brain research, support the efficacy of music study for children.  The MRI imaging actually shows that the brains of musicians are more highly developed. Jenny has sent a number of her high school graduates to prestigious college and universities:  University of Washington, Gonzaga University, Brigham Young University, to mention a few. 


     Each year students are given the opportunity to participate in an international assessment conducted through the Associate Board of the Royal School of Music.  Examiners from England travel worldwide to evaluate students’ abilities in technique, sight-reading, aural training, musicianship, and performing works that are historically representative.  Many in the professional consider this assessment the Advanced Placement (AP)  for music study. This elite assessment fosters the highest level of preparation for students who desire a rigorous and inspiring curriculum.
